Volkswagen or VW refers to automobiles manufactured for the United States market by the German automobile manufacturer by the same name, headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany. This article is a comparison of the environmental impact of vehicles produced by Volkswagen and sold in the United States. This information does not include upstream emissions from fuel or electricity production, which may be significant. Volkswagen vehicles, for the 2017 model year, have tailpipe CO2 emissions that range from 271 to 462 grams per mile. The lowest tailpipe CO2 emissions per mile are from a configuration of the Jetta and the highest emissions are from the Toureg. Fuel economy and emissions data is from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory.[1]
